Ironically named the "People's Palace" by the country's most notable dictator, Palace of Parliament was built for Nicolae Ceauşescu, who was killed in the revolution before the building was finished. Among marble-plated halls and conference rooms, notice the twin marble stairways, which were rebuilt three times before Ceauşescu was satisfied with their height. The highlights of the guided tour include the ethnographic display of traditional Romanian costumes, and the balcony from which Michael Jackson greeted the public. For an extra fee, you can take a tour of the basement, or climb to the roof terrace, which offers one of the best views of the city. The building also houses a museum of contemporary art. Palace of Parliament Reviews
Tämä rakennus on valtava ja todella vaikuttava kokemus, kun huomioi rakennuksen historian. Osallistuin konferenssiin. more »This building is a huge and truly impressive experience when you observe the history of the building. I attended the conference.
He visirado los edficios, plazas y avenidas de Bucarest de la época comuista. Entre ellos estaba el edifico del Parlamento. Resulta una obra faraónica que puede gustar o no gustar pero que impresionar... more »I have visirado the buildings, squares and avenues of Bucharest from the Comuista era. Among them was the parliament building. It is a work pharaonic that may like or not like but that will impress, especially the interiors that I think is essential to visit, both the dimensions and the quality of the materiles used must book time and the very pesonal of the building Act as a guide.
Worth seeing as it's the world's most massive building. Really impressive both inside and outside. The only problem I have with it is a terrible booking of your visit and getting inside (No info when and how to pay for your tickets). I'm sure they will improve it in time, tho. This is a must see in Romania, just make sure to visit it in early spring, when there are not a lot of tourists.
Increadable place to visit , not so many such great examples to hold and save soviet era heritage ! You shall see there and fill the atmosphere. As well it is great regards to modern Romania government to hold and develop the place as offices of Parliament and the same time the event place that really earns money for the state ! Best wishes & go to see it !
