Situated within the wall, occupies a central position in the northern half of the fortress and inside is very beautiful. It is one of the main churches of Valença, for its size.
Esta igreja pertence ao centro histórico de Valença, edificada no século XIII, templo românico com reconstrução neoclássica. Foi sede da antiga colegiada Episcopal gótico-mudéjar do século XV. É compo... more »This church belongs to the historical centre of Valença, built in the 13TH century, Romanesque temple with Neoclassic reconstruction. It was the seat of the former collegiate Gothic-Mudéjar Episcopal of the 15TH century. It is composed of three rectangular nave and chancel arranged lengthwise, with roofs staggered to one and two waters. Bodies in the north and south. Torre addorsed to the south the main façade, facing the West, reveals very sober lines of classical inspiration, according to the canons of Contra Reforma, and where the decoration comes down to the Corinthians capitals that crown the four piled cunhais.
