Arruda Pineapple Plantation, Ponta Delgada

Before anything, no, there is no tour here. You are given a pamphlet that explains the process and you have free reign to walk around the place and enter the greenhouses. It's a nice and quiet place. And you can see it in about 20 minutes. The main place has 19 greenhouses to visit, but you can see that there are way more in the vicinity. Each greenhouse has a capacity for 576 pineapples (and I know you were wondering precisely this fact). There is also a gift shop, and a little cafeteria with pineapple products. I recommend the pineapple cup so you can try the fruit raw and see for yourself if it really is sweeter than a regular one (I won't spoil the surprise)

It's neat to see but don't need to budget a lot of time for it. There are a series of greenhouses with the pineapples at all different life cycles of growing. It's pretty fascinating to see if you've never seen how a pineapple is grown. There is a gift shop with everything pineapple and also a little hut with some pineapple things, a bowl of it, juice, etc. They also have other beverages like beer and some pineapple pastries. Would go for a quick visit but it's not going to take more than an hour.
