  • The Church alone tells its story. Its construction dates back to the 13th century in 1241. It was devastated by the earthquake of 1531 and reerected in 1536; yet you can still see on your walls and columns, the marks left.

  • this church that bears the stigma of history cannot leave indifferent. When we move from one baroque church to another, with their gilding head this church reminds us of the finitude of things... Land. Very moving when you believe it, or not. :)

  • One of the largest baroque churches in Lisbon. The architect that designed the church in the eighteenth century could not guess that a special "artist" would complete the works in the middle of the twentieth century, transforming the interior of the church in a unique way. This "artist " was a huge fire. You need to get inside to understand this.
  • A magnificent Romanesque Church that is free to visit in the heart of Old Town Lisbon. It has very few decorations and truly has the look of what should be an old Romanesque building. The church was heavily damaged in a fire in the 1950s but that just adds another level of character to the church.
