Trip Planner: Europe / Poland / Central Poland / Mazovia Province / Warsaw / St. Anne's Church (Kosciol Swietej Anny)
Located just across from Castle Square, the facade of St. Anne's Church (Kosciol Swietej Anny) makes it look like a great neo-classical government building. This 18th-century facade reflects the church's function as the parish of the city's academic community. Step inside to see the only remaining example of diamond vaulting in the city, as well as Baroque artwork and frescoes. The church has been refurbished multiple times since it was first constructed in the 17th century; throughout the city's history the building has remained an important cultural landmark. St. Anne's Church (Kosciol Swietej Anny) reviews
This church is located adjacent to Castle Square. This amazing church can be overlooked because Castle Square is stealing all the attention. Also, this church looks very different from the outside... more »
The church itself is fairly standard. It is a nice church in a city of nice churches. However, one of the side chapels holds a cross that is quite controversial in recent times and anyone interested..... more »
Beautiful catholic church in the heart of Warsaw. Once inside the church you will find the a Royal Chapel, decorated with Wall paintings, if you go further to the altar place. There will be the directions to 4 parts of the world on the ceiling: Europe, Asia, America & Oceania. The main part of the church has richly decorated walls too. The church has accessible way and spacious place inside. I visited it when it was a hot summer day, so the church became a shelter for me to cool down too. The organ was playing and there were not so many people, but one man was constantly inciting people not to stay in the main part, but to have a look at the Royal Chapel too.
Beautiful church in Warsaw. The interior is perhaps the most interesting one in the city. the organ is stunningly decorated. The exterior is not quite as interesting as others in the area, though. This is worth a visit if you’re in the area.
