#2 of 11 in Things to do in Oswiecim
Founded to revitalize Jewish culture in the town of Auschwitz, Jewish Museum and Synagogue serves as both a place of worship and a museum. Part of the museum is an educational facility that aims to educate the public about the Holocaust. Take a tour of the synagogue and the museum to learn about the culture and daily rituals of the Jewish community that once made up the majority of the population of the town that later became infamous as a concentration camp. You'll also see the Kluger family house and any temporary exhibits. A tour request form online allows you to book in advance. To plan Oswiecim vacation without wasting time, ask Inspirock to design an itinerary.

  • Auschwitz left a lasting impression. I don't know how the people survived there. In such conditions, a modern man will have enough weeks and probably. Nevertheless, you have to go to such places. And especially to show the children that there was no repetition. We were a family with my son for 13 years. Tickets should be taken online in advance, as the Russian-language tour is only one a day. We got by bus Lahkonik. Walks from the central station. Tickets for the bus were also taken online, but only one way. It was not clear how much time we would spend at Auschwitz. We took the ticket so that to come in an hour and did not lose. There was a huge traffic jam on the way out of Krakow. As we were told so they have every day. As a result, we arrived in 20 minutes. Just enough time to pass the ryu...

  • The tour with the Russian-speaking guide takes place at 11.00, tickets are better to book in advance through the official website. Highly recommended for a visit. Terrible atrocities took place in this place, you need to know about it. From the story of the guide a lot for me was heard for the first time, which was not talked about in school and I did not read in the textbook. The tour lasts 3 hours. It was tiring for me to get from Krakow. You can only eat hot dogs and other fast food on the spot.

  • Very interesting museum and a lovely tour done by a German Social Volunteer. English, German and Polish tours possible. Visit to the Old Synagogue is also nice and Jewish groups are able to hold a prayer with the old Thora. Beautiful, even though equipped with replicas. Very well worth a visit but don't expect much information on World War II. It's about Jewish life in the city.
  • Very interesting, loads of information and polite staff. Quirky cafe at the end too.
