Pescador Island, Moalboal

At the picturesque volcanic outcrop of Pescador Island, you'll find a huge amount of marine life, from shoals of sardines thousands strong, to roaming sea turtles. The island's name translates as "fisherman" from Spanish, due to its long-standing reputation as a fishing spot among the locals and the Philippines' Spanish colonial history. With the calm, clear, and temperate waters harboring more than 2,500 species of fish, it has now become a renowned diving spot and a protected marine park. Diving here, you can explore a plunging coral sea wall populated by various creatures throughout the depths. White tip sharks lurk in the deeper waters, while colorful tropical species frequent the coral of the shallows.
