Big Lagoon, El Nido

#2 of 16 in Nature in El Nido
Water Body · Nature / Park
The tranquil turquoise-green waters of Big Lagoon lie tucked between magnificent limestone cliffs fringed by tropical vegetation. Showcasing a kaleidoscope of marine life, the spot provides an excellent diving and snorkeling opportunity. Cruise into it with a catamaran and hop off the boat for a pleasant swim, or kayak around to explore all the shades of blue and caves under the dramatically ridged cliffs. Set in the midst of karst formations sheltering clear waters, the lagoon is a breeding ground for numerous fish and crustaceans. Tours usually include an adventure to the island's smaller lagoon nearby and fresh seafood treats. Make Big Lagoon a part of your El Nido vacation plans using our El Nido trip planner.

  • This spot was one of the final destinations in our island hopping tour. Which when combined with the waiting time to rent a kayak meant we weren't really feeling that excited to start with. But once you've got your kayak and made your way through the opening to the lagoon (most packed spot) you will be taken aback just how beautiful this lagoon is. There is also a fitness / skill filter at play, so the further down the lagoon you go the less crowded it gets. Highly recommended exploring the whole lagoon
  • Make your island-loving self jump in joy. Visit the place! Tour A is highly recommended for first-time visitors.
