Sunken Japanese Wrecks, Coron

#3 of 30 in Wildlife in Coron
Wildlife Area · Nature / Park
Popular with divers from around the world, Sunken Japanese Wrecks allow adventurous underwater explorers to discover a sea plane carrier, cargo vessels, gun boats, and submarine hunters sunk by Americans in 1944. Penetrate engine rooms, machine shop and cargo compartments, or see if you can spot anti-aircraft guns on top decks. Swim with banana fish, giant puffers, sea horses, turtles, and sea snakes, and keep your eyes open for scorpion fish and barracudas. A wreck of a gunboat near Lusong Island covered with hard corals makes a particularly good spot for snorkeling, as well as a decent resting spot between dives. For travelers who use our international travel planner, Coron holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Sunken Japanese Wrecks and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.
