All visitors enter with a guide (one gives them a tip) The tour is super didactic (we went with girls 3, 8,9 and 11 years old) and you discover the whole story of the lady of Cao. The museum is modern. One of the best.
※行こ... more »It's 60km from Trujillo and takes more than an hour by car, but it's very recommended. It is an archaeological site called El Burho, where you can visit not only the Khao Museum but also the temple. The temple here was also large in scale, and the embossed murals were attractive. It is quite well maintained in the whole and can be enjoyed. The museum's exhibits can be photographed (it was a pity that only one room with golden products could not be taken). There is a small shop, but I think that the sense of the souvenir was good. To those who are worried about going. If possible, I recommend this place rather than chang chang ruins. After all, it walks fairly, and the sand rolls up if the wind blows, so please look good to be able to walk easily and get somewhat dirty. Ruins and relics are good, but the unobstructed views of the Pacific Ocean from the top of the temple are also wonderful.
Nice museum explaining the historical and cultural setting of the huaca del Cao. Exhibiting the mummy of the dama del Cao. A major discovery in that it is the first find of a women in power of the Moche culture and Peru in general. Museum is well thought through, has nice tables and explaining graphics combined with explanatory texts in English and Spanish.
Brilliant! One of the best archeological sites in Peru.
