See and learn about Peruvian artifacts and weaponry from around the world at Museo Oro del Peru. Originally found in the personal collection of Miguel Mujico Gallo (who gathered items during his world travels), the artifacts have since been donated to the state for display in this museum. Here you can see various artifacts, mostly made of gold, from Peru’s history. Alongside these exhibits are displays of military armaments from around the globe. Most of the artifacts have only Spanish explanations, though you can hire an English-speaking guide outside the attraction for more detailed information. Impressive museum with an excellent collection of gold artifacts as well as other pieces from ancient Peruvian cultures. The museum shares space with a weapons museum. That, too, is a stunning collection. Of not for the $10 entry fees we would have returned a different day to better enjoy them both.

So much to see and learn! Great for people who like to see battle gear and weaponry (these are on the ground floor) and/or archeological finds (these are in the basement). Up to maybe 2/3 of the displays are translated to English, which I appreciated. Next time I go I think I will look into getting a guide.
