Plaza de Armas de Iquitos, Iquitos

#4 of 71 in Things to do in Iquitos
Landmark · Tourist Spot
Stroll through Plaza de Armas de Iquitos, an attractive urban park and public garden. Relax under the palm trees surrounding the central monument, a tribute to the Peruvians who lost their lives during the Pacific War (1879-83). In the eastern portion of the square, you'll find a fountain with timed jets of water, decorated with colored lights. Plan my trip to Iquitos with suggested itineraries provided by Inspirock.

  • The loud noise making teenagers should be directed to nearby river. The plaza is good, apart from these noisy teenagers. The tourists should feel safe here.  more »
  • This is a lovely place to walk around and spend some time thinking. It is well lit at night and very safe.  more »
  • Relatively clean, plenty to see, and good for a relaxing visit. On weekends the fountains are running which makes for a more vibrant atmosphere and there are typically ice cream vendors and others selling their goods. Fun place to spend some time.
  • Is the one of the most popular and principals plazas in Iquitos city. Its a good place to visit and take pictures with your friends.
