  • Beautiful construction that was the entrance in the region of Cusco. It's well preserved and it's by the side of the road.

  • Formerly built by the Wari as an aqueduct and later repurposed by the Inca as a gate or checkpoint. It's easy to tell the difference between the Inca brickwork and the far simpler Wari walls.

  • Great opportunity to see Wari construction with Inca improvements. Parking is close, easy walk to the structure, particularly enjoyed seeing the Cusco - Puno Inca highway. Short climb to take it all in. Free.
  • Pretty impressive archeological sight on the Qhapac Nan. I wasn't expecting it. It showed up unexpectedly.
