An important archaeological site, Q'enqo serves as one of the largest holy sites in the Cusco region. The name translates roughly to labyrinth, and that’s an apt way to describe this rock complex dating back to the Incan period. This ancient complex was built by Pachacuti Inka Yupanki, the eighth royal Inca king and the same man responsible for building Machu Picchu. Visit the site to explore the rock complex and learn more about the civilization. See the stone table where these people performed medical experiments and prepared their dead for mummification. To get all the inside information on this civilization and the site, hire a guide to walk the complex with you. This is a nice area to walk around. If you don't want to pay 70 soles, there is a free area a little bit down the road. Also, about 20 minutes walk from here is the Temple of the Moon. That area is also beautiful and peaceful with mountains in the background. Check these places out on foot for a good walk.
