Caverna de Quiocta, Chachapoyas

#1 of 6 in Parks in Chachapoyas
Bring a flashlight and explore Caverna de Quiocta, a system of spacious caverns filled with interesting rock formations, stalactites, and stalagmites. The caverns used to be ceremonial burial sites, so you can view ancient skulls and bones on the cave floor or in small niches in the walls. Besides a flashlight to illuminate the dark chambers, you'll need a decent pair of boots, as the cavern floors are very muddy and slippery from bat droppings.
