Palomino, Callao

#2 of 20 in Nature in Lima Region
Island · Nature / Park
A kind of mini Galapagos, Palomino is a group of small islets rich in wildlife and lush tropical beaches. A large population of sea lions and seabirds are native to the area, so take your camera or binoculars if you wish to spot the creatures during your visit. Swimming with the sea lions is a viable option here, though visitors who choose to do so are advised that these are wild and unpredictable animals. If you're prone to motion sickness, be aware that the boat trip to the islands can be very choppy. • Take the freaking dramamine pill if you want to enjoy that trip. You WILL get seasick if you don't. The sea lions are worth the voyage.
