Yanahuara, Arequipa

#4 of 15 in Neighborhoods in Peru
Neighborhood · Other
Yanahuara boasts a small church from the Spanish colonial era, a public park with many palm trees, and houses built from sillar, a pearly white volcanic rock. For a panoramic view of the city, the mountain ranges, and the volcanic backdrop, go to "El Mirador," a popular observation point. Street vendors set their stalls around the small park every weekend. Taste queso helado (frozen cheese) or picarones (deep fried "donuts" with honey sauce), or visit the restaurant with the view over the mountains. With our custom trip planner, Arequipa attractions like Yanahuara can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.
