  • Very nice 2-day trekking organized by Naturaleza Activa. Chachani volcano is a nice climbing adventure, which required to be well acclimated. The view from the top is breathtaking. One recommendation....  more »
  • Incredible opportunity. My guide was Lorenzo (he spoke English and German) and by his careful guidance my entire group of three summited. This Volcano is said to be one of the "Easiest 6000m summits" but keep in mind that NO 6000m SUMMIT is "easy"! Sleeping at above 5000m is very challenging (my brain couldn't get enough oxygen to fully relax, so I woke up every 20 minutes for 5 hours) and it took us 5 hours to climb the 900m to the summit in the morning. Since it's not a technical climb, the elevation is the main challenge of the hike. Do not underestimate it, but do not underestimate your own capabilities as well.
  • Great way to get to experience 6000 masl. To get here you can také a tour, or if you are well expeeiwnced and aclimatized traveler you can do it on your own, only ordering transport from arequipa. The Snow is extremely limited in recent years, an in May 2018 we were able to walk up. The summit without ice axe or crampons, only about 50 meters walking on snoww, absolutely safe.
