  • THE Museum belongs to Don José Villalobos Ampuero, former Mayor of the city of Arequipa, known as the doctor of the poor for their dedication to service. The House Museum consists of several environments where relics of France, Italy, England, Austria and China, many of them from the 17TH and 18th century are displayed that Dn Jose got them arequipeñas families of yesteryear. Among them is the replica of the statue of Hera, carved from a single piece of marble and one of the 7 existing in the world, it has also Rosenthal porcelain objects and vases from the Ming dynasty between other objects of incalculable value

  • For now it is closed this private museum, of family collection with very well preserved objects. Let's hope the family opens it again for public visits.

  • A prematurely with the best tour guide anyone! October 21, 2012, as we walked toward the main square of Arequipa, a person greeted us and spontaneously invited us to walk through a beautiful door. Our first impression was that we were visiting a special Museum. Over time we realized that we were in the House of our "guide" the language barrier not allowed us to better know the person who had welcomed us so well and we ended in Sun drenched Street asking us s i we had not dreamed. Walter, restaurateur known from the square revealed the identity of our host: Dr. José Villalobos Ampuero, said the doctor to the poor and former Mayor of Arequipa. We had some very good moments in the beautiful city of Arequipa, but that day, our last, has been the most intense. We are pleased to learn that this House has become a Museum and wish long life to the doctor José Villalobos Ampuero. Anne & Jean Michel
