Feel at peace as you gaze at the deep blue sea and the distant skyscrapers of the big city. You'll find refreshments and a welcome shade at restaurants and bars when the sun starts burning, and if you're looking for a non-beach activity, visit the rustic San Pedro, a small town founded in the 16th century. • We went for a few hours which was plenty of time. Make sure to bring some small bills or change if you plan on using the bathrooms  more »
  • Upon arrival, everyone is searched for such items as beer. Oddly, you can buy it on the island for about the same price as on the mainland, but "importing" it is not allowed. I don't recommend buying....  more »

  • Nice place near Panama City! If you have a free day during visiting it's a nice place to spent day time
  • Tobago Island is 20km from Panama City. Take the ferry from the Causeway for $24.00 round trip, & 45 minute trip each way. I planned on staying from 8:00am to 4:00pm, but got lucky and was able to board an earlier ferry to return. Please note: you have to decide what time to return when you purchase your tickets and they do not have to honor your schedule change. Bring cash if you plan on eating while on the island. There is also a fee for the restrooms & shower. Beach lounge chairs rental fee is $10.00. There is a small hut right before the beach that sell the best lobster “corn “ empanadas. Most others sell tropical drinks. Bottle water is $1-$1.50. Try & bring everything that you will need like sunblock, towels, swimsuits....no shopping area. You can also go hiking up the road, but most of the island away from the beach & main area is nature preserve.
