Dolphin Bay Preserve, Bocas Town

#4 of 7 in Parks in Isla Colon
Nature / Park · Wildlife Area
See bottlenose dolphins in their natural habitat, go jungle hiking, and snorkel in the warm Caribbean waters filled with coral at Dolphin Bay Preserve. After a short boat ride to the secluded and tranquil bay, you can visit a working cacao plantation. Crunch on fresh sugar cane and taste fresh pineapples and cacao straight from the pod while hearing about the process of making chocolate from the caretaker--a member of the local Ngöbe tribe. You're likely to see caimans, howler monkeys, toucans, and sea urchins. Be careful not to step on poison dart frogs, and don't forget to apply sunscreen and insect repellent. Our Bocas Town road trip app makes visiting Dolphin Bay Preserve and other Bocas Town attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

  • We stopped here on a tour. Nice bay with calm waters. Saw a couple of dolphins. Not really sure how I feel about wild animal tourism.  more »
  • The dolphins are rarely seen. Paying the price to go on a boat trip to see the dolphins is a gamble.  more »
