  • We spent very pleasant and interesting morning visiting the farm. The owner guided us for over two hours telling us about the life of the countless plants and animals, which we met along the way. We really learned a lot of things and ended the visit with exquisite tastings prepared lovingly with all the products that are grown here. There is also the possibility to buy some hand-crafted products on site. I recommend visiting nature enthusiasts and those who want to know more about the method of cultivation of permaculture!

  • Access to the Up in the hill establishment is done by climbing a gentle slope, along a path in cobbled and partly muddy parts. It is part of the charm, in a vacant environment, lush, green, tropical, hot and humid. The facilities are lovely. Built with local woods, they have an armed bar area in a covered gallery, open to the vegetation and flowers of the mountain with several tables, armchairs and shelves where they offer the products that the farm and other neighbors of the place produce, in most cases in artisanal and ecologically sustainable way. They attend the place, helped by some locals, the owners and their children. A Scottish and an Argentinian adventurer who came to Panama attracted by zoology and surfing respectively and stayed to realize their dream of living in contact with Nature and learning from native knowledge. We had a snack of chocolate from the place and chocolate brownies and coconut oil. We chatted with the owners who told us many details about the production of chocolate, about their life on Bastimentos Island and their decision to raise and educate their children in that environment. We had a beautiful time. Wonderful experience. We highly recommend visiting. A good option if the weather does not help to go to the beach. The ecological toilet, the principle of its operation and its location in front of the thicket of vegetation deserve special mention.

  • We did the 2h tour and it was amazing to see how sustainable everything is done there. At the end you can try everything that grows there, which tastes amazing. Highly recommended!
  • Great coffee, brownies and banana bread, nice people and overall a really cool project. We “hiked” up from Old Bank which is a nice 15 minutes walk through tropical vegetation.
