Uvdal Stave Church (Uvdal stavkirke) is situated at Uvdal in the valley Numedal in Nore og Uvdal in Buskerud, Norway. The stave church was originally constructed just after the year 1168, which is known through dendrochronological dating of the ore-pine used in the construction. The logs were not completely dry when the construction took place.

  • Do not confuse Uvdal Church with Uvdal Stave Church. If you're driving from west to east on Fv40 the Uvdal Church will be on the right just past the turn on to Fv122 you will have to make to get to...  more »

  • Nice stop during a long trip. Get a guide, he knows interesting things about the church! Apart from the church, there are quite a few other buildings from ages past. There even was an elephant in the room.
