  • Very good layout. It starts by taking one through the history of Longyearbyen, its whaling and mining importance. And you can walk around the recreated landscape with life-size exhibits of the animals and birds and plants. Information boards were well written. One can easily spend 2-3 hours here. There is also a gift shop with some rather "cool" items on sale
  • The museum was in the middle of some rework but the majority was still visible. They have a nice collection of historical arctic items recovered from the archipelago. They also present the life of whalers and hunters. Most local animals have a stuffed specimen. Pictures, descriptions and videos about all major subjects rated to Svalbard.
