Pay a visit to Iglesia de La Merced, a historic site of Catholic pilgrimage. Originally built in 1539, the church was razed by pirates in the mid 17th century and rebuilt with its current Baroque facade in the 1780s. Restored with an ornate interior in the 1860s, the church today contains an image of the Virgen de Fatima, a sacred object that draws many pilgrims. Climb up the bell tower that flanks the church to gain extensive views of the city and beyond, including many major urban and natural attractions. It couldn't be easier to arrange your visit to Iglesia de La Merced and many more Granada attractions: make an itinerary online using Inspirock's Granada tour itinerary website.
