  • Great place, so much info and pitched so well to interest kids to adults. My son especially loves the special kids area. We could have spent hours more there! Great gift shop too with all sorts of different things and not crazy prices for a museum gift shop. Definitely worth a trip. Cafe too so you can make a whole day of it!
  • Fantastic stop on the drive Auckland-Wellington! Totally worth the entrance fee. Exhibitions were fantastic, as a Kiwi it made me proud to see everything so well presented. A great tribute and loving memory to those who have and still do make sacrifices for our freedom. Spent 4 hours here and could have spent all day but needed to hit the road. The gift shop was great, quality products and books. My bf and I were gifted Ponamu for Xmas and it was purchased here. The string on mine broke immediately-it wasn’t the right one for me. They made it very easy to exchange. Food at the cafe was well priced and well made, 4 of us had a lunch on arrival and went back for snacks to take with us as we left. Looking forward to going back, will make more time. Great photo opportunity at the cafe by the window with the mountain and flags in the background.
