Join a number of locals for a stroll, jog, or picnic at Cornwall Park, one of Auckland's biggest and most popular outdoor areas. The center of the park is One Tree Hill, a volcanic cone that was a Maori stronghold. Today, the hill's summit is topped with a memorial to Sir John Logan Campbell, the park's main donor. In addition to lush greenery, the park offers facilities for various activities, such as tennis, cricket, rugby, cycling, or archery. With a peaceful atmosphere and more than 20 resident bird species, the park is also heaven for bird-watchers. The park is open every day from morning to dusk and there is no admission fee. • This is aucklander's own backyard. A wonderful place to wander around with kids. Best in early morning or sunset.  more »
  • Pack up your wheels or blades for a fun day in the park. There’s almost always something going on. We love walking through the heavy forested areas too to spot Rosellas. Changes seasonally  more »

  • Awesome, BBQ area very popular during summer so best to get thier early to ensure a spot. Great for a walk to the top of One Tree Hill, better now that cars are no longer aloud to the top. Heaps of area's for the kids to run around, with food places near by if having a picnic. Very quiet and a great place to chill out on a summers evening.
  • I love this place. It is great for exercising - walking, running or cycling. Fantastic views of the city from the summit. Everyone can enjoy this place. Bring the kids & let them run off that extra energy or play in the playground. If you want to relax in the sun with friends, you can. It is also great for picnics or a coffee at the cafés there. It’s also fun to watch the archers at the archery club.
