  • We were, this my wife Pia, our friend Andrea and I, Frank, from 1.11.2018 to 24.11.2018 with Ngawang and his father Phurba Sherpa on the aforementioned tour. We were also well supported by the two Porter Lakpa and Nima, who come from the same place in the solo Khumbu, such as Ngawang and Phurba. Since we already knew Phurba as an excellent Sirdar from an expedition in 2015, at that time still for another agency, it was a great honor for me to plan this tour for us three people individually initially with him, then in detail with his son Ngawang almost a year ago. Communication via whats app was absolutely perfect, all wishes were discussed and realized. To this end, we are not inexperienced in planning such trips and have carried out several tours also with renowned European agencies. But it is no comparison with Ngawang and Phurba. You really care about every need and that is of paramount importance for safety on such tours. Have experienced serious errors in route planning several times with major European agencies. The desire for good and plentiful food as well as for a little more comfort in the lodges (rooms with their own bad-/toilet) was invariably fulfilled. Unfortunately, if we had to cancel the summit attempt Island Peak from Base Camp because of stubborn coughing (Khumbu cough) and unfortunately a back injury of Pia, the tour was a very big experience and remains in the memory for a lifetime. At Base Camp, the whole team around Phurba and Ngawang took care of the chef Akima. We were able to enjoy special inhalation therapy to relieve our cough, phurba would have tried everything at all times to allow us to climb further, but our joint decision was to be relegated for safety reasons. This turned out to be the right one in any case, because Pia's back injury was a bit more serious after all. On the entire descent over 4 days to Lukla, Ngawang and Phurba offered all possible help at all times. It is worth noting that Phurba, who has climbed Everest 13 times, is absolutely there with the same commitment even on seemingly easier tours for his guests. Ngawang is no different, even if he hasn't climbed Everest so far. There is no arrogance and arrogance at either mountain guide, as I have seen many times with European mountain guides. I myself, who is to some extent also of the subject (Doctor in Mountain medicine, Expedition Medicine) only realize such trips with phurba and Ngawang with quite individual schedule, on organized groups tours with a tight schedule I have unfortunately too much so far. Experienced dangerous events that were clearly attributable to the wrong tactics in height adjustment as well as problematic group dynamics. This was absolutely perfect with Ngawang and Phurba for the first time. Of course, both are not to blame for other illnesses and self-inflicted injuries, but their offers of help were exemplary. It was also exemplary that you hire Porter from your village, who can acllimatize well (also Sherpa) and were equipped accordingly. Dealing with you has always been amicable. We can only recommend the whole team to the extreme and wish you many more successful tours, hopefully again with us. Thank you very much
