Take a hike to glorious Thrangu Tashi Monastery, where you can learn about Buddhist philosophy and join in some rituals. Thrangu Rinpoche founded the monastery and established the attached monastic school, which focuses on the study of Buddhist philosophy. Stand on the veranda and look closely at the richly decorated exterior, where you can see symbols of the five Buddha families decorating the curved roof in Indian style. Devoted to lasting happiness and compassion, this monastery allows you to explore its interior, where you can see a tall Buddha statue, with statues of five kneeling disciples in front of him. The profound teachings at the monastery inspire faith, with everyone welcome to join; you can meditate, join in some ceremonies, or just observe.
