Take a hike to glorious Thrangu Tashi Monastery, where you can learn about Buddhist philosophy and join in some rituals. Thrangu Rinpoche founded the monastery and established the attached monastic school, which focuses on the study of Buddhist philosophy. Stand on the veranda and look closely at the richly decorated exterior, where you can see symbols of the five Buddha families decorating the curved roof in Indian style. Devoted to lasting happiness and compassion, this monastery allows you to explore its interior, where you can see a tall Buddha statue, with statues of five kneeling disciples in front of him. The profound teachings at the monastery inspire faith, with everyone welcome to join; you can meditate, join in some ceremonies, or just observe. Step outside to enjoy incredible views of Himalayan peaks and a nearby village. Before you visit Dhulikhel, use our trip planner to discover what you can do and see there.

Construit sous la direction de Kenchen Thrangu Rinpoché, ce monastère est sis sur les hauteurs de Namo Bouddha, petit village situé à une dizaine de kilomètres de Dhulikel et à environ 40 de Kathmando... more »Built under the direction of Kenchen Thrangu Rinpoche, this monastery is located on the heights of Namo Buddha, a small village about ten kilometers from Dhulikel and about 40 from Kathmandu. The road leading to the monastery currently looks like a track smashed by the heavy rains of April, which does not prevent taxis from taking it. The main gompa of the monastery is beautiful and the statues of the Buddhas are superb. Another room dedicated to Tara Verte is located in a building above the main gompa. You will have the opportunity to have lunch in the refectory with the monks, but on the other hand you will not be sitting at the same table. Some guesthouses located on the site offer rooms whose rate fluctuates according to the teachings taught by the masters. The "New Guesthouse" offers rooms of better comfort than the others but the price is also different. Count between Rs 1000 and Rs 2000 depending on the type of room and guesthouse. A must-see if you are in Dhulikel.
