  • Surprising to find a vineyard in the desert. It is still open despite COVID-disaster. Very well explained guided tour of the farm. End your tour with a chees platter ideal for lunch.  more »
  • We completely missed the turn for hiking so finding a desert winery was a happy accident. They salvaged our afternoon and accommodated us with an unscheduled wine tasting. They had plenty of activity....  more »

  • Nicely hidden and quiet resort/lodge. Own grown red wine is excellent (for my taste at least), staff is very friendly and exceptionally helpful (helped me change and fix a run flat tire in the morning! The room we had had two single beds and want prepared as a double bed even though we booked it as such. I don't raise it as a complaint at all because we just used or own hands (that's why we have them) and put them together. But it's that little extra I would 'expect' (as I am used to stay in many different hotels world wide). The food they serve is excellent for the size of the lodge. As I had the pleasure to meet 2 out of three chefs why I know they really love their job!! The service staff is really good and attentive. If you are there, go and book a cheetah feeding - it's a must! It's a big sanctuary and the scientific researcher, Douglas, provides fantastic insights on their habitat, their research, etc. And you find yourself right next to this beautiful and curious (Four food ;)) animals. Nobly a single aggressive behaviour! So no need to be scared at all, you are safe and Douglas has an eye on them as well. Enjoy the proximity to this rare and beautiful creatures. Wee didn't do a wine tasting but what we could see looked very good: 4 different types of wines come together with a cheese platter and you get explanations to each of the wines. Overall, I can really recommend the lodge and even more so what they and several volunteers help to achieve: study, conserve and raise awareness (As well towards the farmers in the surrounding) how precious wildlife, and there carnivores specifically are. Thanks to all for great 3 days And insights you have us into wildlife!
  • Lovely environment. Impressive concept of a desert vineyard. However it lacks a welcome vital for any host especially if it is in regards to skin colour. One doesn't quite have the feeling of being free and welcome. Not a place I would freely go and stay.
