The largest river in the country, Ayeyarwady River has been a site of an immense historical and cultural value for hundreds of years. An important vessel for transport and trade, especially during the British colonial period, the river's vast network of irrigation canals have been vital in shaping the country into what it is today. Take a tour on a boat to enjoy the view of the numerous colorful temples, and see people working and living their everyday lives on the river's banks. You'll get a true sense of the river Rudyard Kipling called the "road to Mandalay" in his famous poem. • To transport and to irrigate water to the field
  • We did the all day cruise from Bagan to Mandalay on the RV N MAI HKT Tours boat. It was a great day and I would highly recommend this boat over the much publicised MGRG. The later was fully booked and we shared the boat with 12 other people, much more space to move around and much more civilized when the meals were served. The staff were terrific and the food supplied on board was excellent local food and European Breakfast. It was a great day and well worth the money. Boring in parts, interesting in others, but a really relaxing day.
