Todgha Gorge, Tinerhir

Must see · Canyon · Hiking Trail
Take a hike through Todgha Gorge, an impressive canyon in the eastern section of the High Atlas Mountains. The most popular part of the canyon begins when the walls come impossibly close together--with just 10 m (33 ft) between them and the two orange limestone cliffs rising up 160 m (525 ft) on either side of you, you'll know exactly what being stuck between a rock and a hard place feels like. A shallow, cold stream of clear water flows through the gorge, the remnant of a much more generous river that carved this landscape into its distinctive form. The jagged cliff faces on either side of the gorge make it particularly popular with rock climbers.
