Trip Planner: Africa / Morocco / Meknes-Tafilalet Region / Errachidia / Musee des Sources de Lalla Mimouna
Explore two large gardens and the exquisite details of the medina's tallest towers at Musee des Sources de Lalla Mimouna. Currently composed of gardens and a museum, the complex dates back to the 16th century. Following destruction about a century later, it was rebuilt in the mid-19th century as the home of Haha tribe leader qaid al-Hajj Abd-Allah U-Bihi. Tour the site to discover information about its Arab-Andalusian and Moroccan landscaping and architecture. Afterwards, you can linger in the onsite bookshop, cafes, and boutique. He made it a magical place opening up to the rich and complex culture of this region and the miraculous role of water. Visit through time, punctuated with pretty phrases (including drawn from the little Prince), Berber tent erected in the midst of a garden of fossils and tools of prehistory... objects and witnesses of an ancestral or more everyday rural life... but also precious goods such as festive adorings, arms and jewels. And finally a magnificent collection linked to the art of calligraphy embodied by our host himself who, literate passionate and exciting, has made us the pleasure to initiate us there. To visit. Absolutely.

A landmark meeting with Zaid, creator of this place, which embodies passion, culture, art, and sharing. His struggle to live in a clean and respected planet is encouraging and hopeful. I highly recommend!
A must to visit. The history and the artefacts are very very interesting. The source is magical. The founder Zait Abbou will welcome you with great explanations
The visit took us 1 hour but it was worth 3 centuries of time travelling while seeing all the collected materials Mr Zaid exposed and gave back somehow to life. Located in the middle of a rocky island, the view of bubbling water is just awesome 😊
