Genghis Khan Statue Complex, Ulaanbaatar

Observe a towering monument dedicated to one of history's most famous conquerors at Genghis Khan Statue Complex. Built in 2008, the 40 m (130 ft) tall statue symbolically points to the east, towards Genghis Khan's birthplace. The entire compound lies surrounded by traditional yurts, recreating the 13th-century ambience of the Mongol tribes. As you approach the site, examine the steel equestrian statue standing on top of a visitor center with 36 columns.
