Noul Neamț Monastery (Romanian: Mănăstirea Noul Neamț; Russian: Свято-Вознесенский Ново-Нямецкий монастырь) is an all-male Moldovan Orthodox monastery located in Chițcani, near Bender and Tiraspol. Geographically located in the historical region of Basarabia, it is today controlled by the breakaway Transnistrian authorities. It is also known as Chițcani Monastery.

  • Great place for a short stop in Transnistria. Very different from Tiraspol or Bender town, nothing about guns and tanks :). THE VIEW FROM THE BELL TOWER IS AMAZING! - Just 15 km from Bender town...  more »
  • This site contains some monasteries all of them working. Around there are some cultivated fields. There are a couple of monasteries more interesting than the others.  more »

  • I'm not a believer, but it was a different experience compared to what I'm used to. It's not necessarily better or worse, but it was interesting watching distinct religious habitudes for already known circumstances.
  • Very beautiful and well kept monastery. They have 2 churches, each open half a year. There is around 20 monks living on the premises and I've you are lucky, they will give you a tour in their winery and give you bread that they make there.
