  • Coyote Aventuras took us for a weekend adventure to Santiago Apoala, a tiny town about 2 1/2 hours outside of Oaxaca. The scenery was spectacular! The food was delicious and the lodging was rustic...  more »
  • We had an amazing day with COYOTE Aventuras! I had originally booked a more intermediate day of mountain biking along with a guided walk in the forest, however Fernando (our guide) was very helpful...  more »

  • I've travelled a lot, and usually it takes knowing locals to get the kinds of experiences you will get through Coyote Adventuras. I was in Oaxaca for about ten days and I ended up doing four tours with Coyote because they were so amazing! Carlos, Shai, Fede, Alex... they were all so helpful, thoughtful, knowledgeable, and excited to share the magic of this place! Carlos is brilliant whether he is explaining the intentions of the street artists, talking about the culture and landscape, anticipating people's energy levels, or helping people with bikes and transportation logistics. And I think Shai speaks English better than I do. :D I had incredible conversations with her! :) The Street Art bike tour is a great place to start. You will see incredible corners of the city, and the Coyotes scout for art all the time so you may see brand new murals (locals are unbelievably talented, and some murals are even by famous international artists). I also went on the Hierve el Agua tour (gorgeous falls, springs, hike, views) and two tours specific to Dia de los Muertos. And I have friends that trail bike with Carlos, and the trails they ride look amazing! If you tell Carlos you heard about them from Jodie... you will get a smile.
  • We spent a full day (6:45am to 6:30pm) with Fernando and toured Hierve de Agua, had a delicious local breakfast, went to a waterfall Fernando recommended (highlight of the day) , toured a Mezcal Distillery, went to look and purchase textiles, saw the tule tree, and had an early dinner. Fernando took pictures for us through the day and emailed them to us so we could fully enjoy our experience and be in the moment. He was knowledgeable, warm, easy to be around and extremely professional. It felt like we were with an old friend. It was a truly magical day and the highlight of our trip. Fernando customized the day to our liking and also was able to quickly learn our personalities to give other ideas. I look forward to returning to Oaxaca to explore more of the beautiful region. I will use Coyote Adventures again without a doubt! Their professionalism and costumer service is equal to any high end, private tour company in the world.
