Founded in 2010, Eat Mexico is the first tourism company in Mexico City to offer tours of the city’s street food and markets. Customers can choose from six routes: Street Food, Regional Tacos, Markets, Sunday Tianguis, A Journey Through La Merced, and Late Night Tacos and Mezcal. We also offer tours in Puebla. Most tours run about 4 hours long, and they’re designed for small groups of 1 to 6 people. Each tour is given by a bilingual, local guide.Use our Mexico City trip itinerary maker site to add Eat Mexico Culinary Tours and other attractions to your Mexico City vacation plans.
Eat Mexico’s goal is to teach customers what most people in Mexico City and Puebla really eat. Our customers taste freshly prepared foods from stands and fondas across Mexico City — and they learn about how each item is prepared, its history, and its importance and role in local culture. By the end of our tours, our clients are full and happy, and they’ve learned something they can share with their friends back home.
Eat Mexico has served hundreds of tourists from all over the world. We’re also on Facebook, Twitter and Trip Advisor.
The business was founded in July 2010 by Lesley Téllez, an American expat based in Mexico City, and Jesica López Sol, a chilanga who moved to Mexico City when she was nine years old. Lesley is currently Eat Mexico’s sole owner and executive director.
