Trip Planner: Africa / Mauritius / Riviere du Rempart District / Grand Baie / La Cuvette Public Beach
Skip the crowds and head to La Cuvette Public Beach, a small public beach located close to the center of the main bay. Clear of rocks and coral, the calm water offers a nice spot for swimming, while the soft white sand beach lined by trees provides a sense of seclusion not found on many of the island's beaches. Enjoy a cocktail or freshly made fruit juice on this quaint little spot, and watch the boats move lazily across the bay. La Cuvette Public Beach Reviews
I enjoyed the energy of this island. There is music playing, various food options and shade. Good for a small group to go to. more »
Spiaggetta piccola e deliziosa. Sabbia bianca, alberi che permettono di stare all’ombra e un bel prato fanno da cornice ad un mare trasparente. Il bagno è permesso, ma con un occhio di riguardo visto ... more »Lovely little beach. White sand, trees that allow you to stay in the shade and a nice lawn are the setting for a transparent sea. The bathroom is allowed, but with an eye on as there are strong currents and boats passing by at full speed. The sandy bottom does not allow a bit of snorkelling. Close to the beach 5 kiosks will allow you to eat, drink and enjoy typical dishes. We had a Garden House with tables, run by Indians one of which speak very good Italian.
Small beach that’s just far enough off the main street that you feel like you’re exploring. There are food vendors, change rooms, and washrooms available too. The beach is clean and free from boats. We spent a few hours swimming in the water and drying off under the hot sun. There is some shade available from the trees at the back of the beach.
La Cuvette Public Beach Mauritius: La Cuvette meaning the tub as to say the beach is almost the size of a bath tub, but don't get it wrong, it's a very nice small beach. Being there for a day can be cool as their are quite a few Mauritian food and beverage stalls with table and chairs, if you bring your own there are lots of trees to picnic and relax under. While there they were some children playing football on a small area and they were really having fun👍
