Salt harvesting is done only during the summer period i.e. from the month of June till the end of August. The salt is produced from natural elements such as sun, wind and the evaporation of sea water. Xwejni salt is collected and packed manually following traditional methods.
Our facility is located in Zebbug Gozo, 'Arjuza', triq Ghajn Mhelhel however our saltpans are located at 'Xwejni Salt Pans leli tal-Melh' , Xwejni Street.

Definitely worth a visit for the dramatic photo opportunities of the saltpans and limestone cliffs. Difficult to get to if you don't have your own transport though. more »

Serene and very scenic. You cannot go into the salt Pans.. although I saw some people fishing near the coast and maybe there is a way to do that. Driving along it and just discovering the coast and watching the landscape change was truly unique.

On our long hiking way we arrived at this location were there are so many salt pans between the road and the deep blue sea, for about one mile, I would guess. Interesting to see
