Perched on a bastion edge overlooking the harbor, Lower Barrakka Gardens offers an escape from the scorching sun, plus memorable scenic vistas. The garden features numerous shady resting spots surrounded by Mediterranean shrubs and historic monuments. Watch the cruise liners and other ships enter and leave the port, and see the neoclassical cenotaph dedicated to Alexander Ball, who led the joint Maltese and British armed forces during the Great Siege of Malta. Lower Barrakka Gardens reviews
Tranquil oasis of calm amongst the hustle and bustle of busy Valletta. Great views of the Siege Bell Monument and harbour. There are also toilets which is a bonus! Quieter than the Upper Barrakka... more »
The upper and lower Barrakka gardens are small but lovely and well looked after. It‘s best to go there early in the morning or late afternoon. more »
The views are pretty much what they are from the Upper Gardens. A bit less foliage and a wonderful view of the Grand Harbor. There are clean and well maintained toilets here with sufficient supplies. Very nice play area for the kids. Try to get there for the midday gun salute - a hold over British custom.
Cool place to look around the Valletta bay area. The tower is quite impressive though not too high. Would recommend it to everyone who just wants to enjoy the view. It is located 10 minutes from the city centre.
