Mamutik Island, Kota Kinabalu

#3 of 18 in Parks in Kota Kinabalu
Island · Nature / Park
Take a trip to Mamutik Island, one of five islands in a marine park set just off the mainland. Despite being the smallest of the landmasses in the park, the island offers plentiful sandy beaches and lots of barbecue pits, picnic shelters, and tables. Dive into the surrounding waters to see the protected marine life, with attractive formations of coral and many colorful fish. Do watch out for sea urchins, however: lots of the spiky critters live around the coral close to the beach, so bring some flip-flops. • Beautiful island, but came out pretty short for me on snorkeling. The water a bit cloudy compare to their ads. But still able to enjoy coral and fish view.
  • You can try parasailing with a reasonable price. The beach is clear that you can see many fishes swimming together with you. It was very beautiful.
