Visit Kek Lok Si Temple, the largest Buddhist complex in Malaysia. Established at its hilltop location in 1891, the temple harmoniously combines architectural influences from across the region. Its main feature remains the impressive seven-story pagoda and its 10,000 alabaster and bronze statues of Buddha. The ample grounds include separate areas of relaxation and contemplation, with pools, ponds, and well-maintained, peaceful gardens. A venerated place of worship, the temple attracts pilgrims from across Southeast Asia and beyond. Prepare an extra memory card. Every where around is a good place to take a picture. Not just the building, but the view itself. Don't skip the huge statue. To go there, you can take a paid trem. The.... more »
Very picturesque temple which you can visit for free. The temple opens at 8.30 am and we would recommend you to be there right around that time to avoid the crowds, the heat and get a good chance of capturing those great shots without any other person in the frame. For 6 RM you can go all the way up (with an elevator) to enjoy the view over the city.
Was here 10 years back and it was a humble temple. Impressive in size but feel has lost a bit of its charm. felt like a big supermarket. would have liked if the temple was kept sacred for prayers and the commercial part perhaps at the bottom of the hill.
