Monument · Hidden Gem · Tourist Spot
Head to Lac Anosy and immerse yourself in tranquility as you take in views of the surrounding lush, hilly scenery complementing this serene body of water. Previously a swamp, the heart-shaped artificial lake is located in the southern part of Madigascar's capital. It features a French-built WW1 memorial dedicated to those who fell during the war. Connected to the mainland by an isthmus, the island was once used to store explosive materials. You can sometimes see locals fishing and washing in the lake.
