Roman Baths, Beirut

4.0
Once frequented by the people of the city, today Roman Baths testify to Beirut's ancient heritage. Discovered in 1968 in downtown Beirut, the baths remain under excavation, with one section now used as a public performance space. Wander between between several landscaped terraces, looking out over the four major bathing areas and studying the remains of a functional underground heating system. Once a meeting place for all citizens, the baths still attract locals and tourists alike, who congregate to watch performances and amble through the Mediterranean medicinal plant garden.
