Very well rendered context of the considerable Dvinsk of end 19th early 20th century with sparkling Jewish life. Good sketch of educational environment and personal history of Rothko family. Also better insight into the development of his work from the first period to the abstract expressionist style in the Sixties. With unfortunately a limited number of works by the master. Still worth going to there.

The visit to this Centre is therefore the main attraction of this city. Most of the museum offers projections of paintings by this artist who immigrated to the United States, but was born here. These are large paintings with large monochrome spots: we are in the field of abstraction. He committed his death, in the grip of a great depression, despite the success and many works sold. There is only one room (closely guarded even to not have photographed) with few works by the author. For the rest, these are reproductions or projections. However, it is recommended to evaluate and learn about this important figure of 20th century artist.
