Pouring over wide multi-level curved limestone rock formations among trees, Tad Sae Waterfall produce a silky canopy-like effect of dispersed water falling with a constant roar. The water reaches the falls through a moss-covered forest with trees growing straight out of the rock, forming several terraced pools. Take an elephant ride and join the local youngsters for a dip in an emerald-green pond, or walk the boardwalk to reach a wooden observation deck. Thatched huts next the falls provide boat rides. The falls' volume varies quite a bit, with the most dramatic time during rainy season between July and February. For travelers who use our custom trip planner, Luang Prabang holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Tad Sae Waterfall and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

We arrived by boat across the river, which cost 20 000 kip for 2 people, the price is perfectly fine, the scooter parking has cost 5000 kip. On the other side of the river you come to a small cottage where you have to pay the entrance fee (15000kip/p.P). Unfortunately, no one told us here or at the parking lot that water does not exceed the minimum level. So most of the waterfall was dry. What a pity. Waere otherwise determines a visit value.View original

It's a must see in any season. Eye popping color and calming sounds of water. You can swim, I did, though it is cold. Many people but it's a large area so it's not a problem.

Several nice waterfalls in a national park. In some pools it is possible to swim. Attention: This does not mean that the water is hot - it is rather fresh.
