  • The moment of meeting with history has never hurt anyone yet. The monumental remains of the Parthenon and a wonderful view extending to each side of the city. We recommend

  • The site is especially appreciated for its geographical location, very spectacular and scenic, in fact it stands on the highest hill of Amman (850mt) which, like Rome, was built on 7 hills. Around you can admire the other hills where literally pile up, like a beehive, the oldest living areas of the city, while in the distance you can see some skyscrapers in the most modern part. Nice glance at the imposing Greek theater below, in the city. Not particularly exaggerated as dimensions and not properly well maintained, it remains a place of great historical charm and archaeological interest thanks to the Temple of Hercules, rebuilt under the Roman era of Marcus Aurelius, the Umayyad palace, VII se.d.c ., and the remains of a Byzantine church of the 6th-6th century BC. . Also interesting is the archaeological museum with the remains found at the site since the Bronze and Iron Age, but also Greeks, Romans, Arabs. Free entry with JordanPass, at the entrance a bar.

  • The best place to see Amman... The top if the hell with three civilizations and an overview of Amman.. if you like history you will love the place... if you like walking it's an amazing place to do so... and if you want to see the actual Amman this is the place to come... The view over down town and the Roman theatre is breath taking.
  • Although the site is not large. You visit the whole site in no time but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth it. I definitely is worth it because you will not only see the roman architecture that influenced Jordan in those days. You will have a fantastic view of the city. Welcoming staff and it’s included in the Jordan pass. So if you have the pass, I highly recommend you visit the Citadel.
