Dropping 88 m (288 ft) from the slope of Mount Nagata, the waters of Oko no Taki Fall hit the River Oko, creating a milky white foam that gushes out of broken rocky formations. A must-visit for nature lovers in Yakushima, you can reach the falls after a 1.5 hour hike through scenic forest. With flocks of dragon flies hovering above it, the site offers scenic views of pristine nature surrounded by lush greenery. Climb up onto rocks and get sprayed by the water, or bring your swimming gear and take a dip. A great place for a picnic and a good photo opportunity, the spot is also easily accessible by car.
