Kimiidera Temple, Wakayama

4.1
Climb 231 steps to the panoramic vista that awaits at Kimiidera Temple. Founded in the eighth century by a Chinese priest named Iko, the site served as a training facility for over 500 monks at a time during the Kamakura period. Among the visually impressive, red lacquered structures in the complex, you can see the temple's main deity, Kannon (the goddess of mercy), through a circular window. The site is also famous for its early-flowering cherry blossoms, around 500 of them, which bloom in the spring and make for an excellent photo opportunity. For travelers who use our online itinerary creator, Wakayama holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Kimiidera Temple and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • On September 12, he visited 33 places in Nishikuni, and he was left flying around The Second Kimitsui-ji Temple. I pay 200 yen for the entrance fee and go up a steep stairs. I could see it well to Shikoku and Numashima. The largest kannon bodhisattva in Japan was on the way. Moreover, a lot of people who sent out the full Mongolia development member from Wakayama, and accomplished a miserable end as a result might have been a lot. A monument of remembrance was installed.

  • Totally good and authentic. Climb to the top. Enjoy the view. Established in about 770 meaning 1200 years of history right here in one place. One of the largest wooden statues in Japan
  • Easy to reach there by train. The view from the top was very good. Next time I would like to try 名水コーヒー because it sounds so nice!
