  • This museum is the place to go if you want to learn more about all aspects of Tochigi prefecture - nature, history and so on. The sad point? There is nothing available in English.  more »
  • Adult 200 yen. I went for a tour with two children from kindergarten. The tour time is about two hours. There are many attractions for the price. Animals and dinosaurs. There was a corner with the theme of the insect etc. and the child was enjoying it. There are also many resting places, so it is not crowded and can be visited slowly. Because it is adjacent to the park, you may take a walk after the tour if the weather is good. However, because the parking lot is in collaboration with the user of the park, it becomes full immediately and should be careful. If you are worried, you should visit early. It has opened since 9:30. Lunch is on the hotel restaurant (coffee shop?) There is hardly a customer available.... The location is very close to the shopping area.

  • The museum is located in the Central Park of Tochigi prefecture. Car parked in the Central Park parking lot. There is also a parking lot on the north side of the museum, but as of November 2018, it cannot be used because of the extension of the collection building. Through the park, there is a museum building, but the entrance of the museum and the entrance of the restaurant are opposite to the north and south. There is a ticket office on the left side of the museum entrance. The museum shop is on the left, right in front of the entrance. The restaurant is on the second floor, and from the museum side, if you go up to the second floor in the slope exhibition, you can proceed to the right. First, there is a slope exhibition about the nature of Nikko and Mt. Shirane. On the second floor in the direction of the clock, there is an exhibition of historical folklore materials in the first exhibition room. The second exhibition room is exhibited by the exhibition and flora and fauna revitalizing in the ecological system of Tochigi. The exhibition on the second floor shows the history of Tochigi Prefecture from the primitive age to the Showa era (after the war), but there is no continuity like a textbook because it is an exhibition of holding a certain point. It seems to put emphasis on the warlords before the Edo period. ※ Tochigi Prefectural Museum Association M-Wari is a participating museum.
